Silencers can be designed and fabricated to facilitate easy cleaning within the flow path to ensure that acoustic and aerodynamic performance are maintained especially if the process flow medium contains dirt, dust, particulate residue or where bacterial/ mold growth could be an issue.
Chambers in reactive or “pack-less” silencer types can also be accessed for cleaning where required.
Cleanable silencers have access points that allow physical cleaning or prompt replacement of acoustic baffles and can also have hardware incorporated in the design to allow periodic cleaning using chemicals/pressurized water or compressed air.
